To support the national and municipal thrust for fusion energy research and development, SJTU invites applications for faculty and research positions in magnetic fusion science and engineering at SJTU Future Energy Institute.

Positions:

Multiple positions are open for all specialties of magnetic fusion energy, including plasma theory and simulation, fusion experiment, plasma diagnostics, plasma material interaction, reactor engineering, and fusion applications of artificial intelligence and high temperature superconductors, etc. Preference will be given to candidates with experiences in the design, construction, and operation of optimized stellarators and other superconducting fusion devices. Candidates at all career stages, from Assistant Professor to Chair Professor and from junior to senior Researchers and Engineers, are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in fusion-related disciplines, an outstanding record in fusion science and engineering, and the ability to initiate and execute independent research projects. Faculty candidates are also expected to participate effectively in teaching and university services.  SJTU welcomes candidates of all nationalities and ethnicities with a working language of Chinese or English.
